4th of July In Steamboat Springs
Steamboat Springs is an amazing place to relax and vacation over the 4th of July holiday. The idyllic western influenced town with outstanding dining options and expansive surrounding natural beauty never disappoints! There are all the typical summer fun activities with the bonus of 4th of July festivities.

Pro Rodeo Series

Steamboat Springs hosts a professional rodeo in the Brent Romnick Arena at Howelsen Hill on Fridays and Saturdays throughout the summer. Over the 4th of July holiday, the rodeo typically runs on July 3rd and July 4th. The event includes bareback riding, roping, steer wrestling, saddle bronc riding, bull riding, and barrel racing. Before the rodeo starts, BBQ is served along live music. There are clowns and a Calf and Ram Scramble for the kids.

4th of July Parade

The entire town gathers to enjoy the Fourth of July Parade at 10am on Lincoln Avenue downtown. Just beforehand, watch skiers in the Roller Ski Competition zip up and down main street. The parade boasts local clubs, emergency vehicles, animals, and often, a fire-breathing dragon. Don’t forget your sunscreen!

Jumpin’ and Jammin’ Ski Jump Competition

What would summer in a ski town be without ski jumping? Yes, I said ski jumping. It really is something to see. Located at Howelsen Hill, watch ski jumpers launch off the huge jumps at the historic ski hill.

Fireworks

Possibly unknown to many, Steamboat Springs has some of the world’s biggest fireworks enthusiasts. Located at Howelsen Hill, the fireworks launch from two points on the mountain. They are synced to a laser show as well. Of note, sometimes the weather is too dry and hot for a fireworks show to happen due to wildfire risk in which cause the laser show goes solo.

Summer fun!

There are endless things to do in the summer in Steamboat Springs. The area boasts some of the best hiking (link to Hiking post) and biking in Colorado. Visit the Strawberry Park Hot Springs.
